GLOBAL SEARCH FOR LOCAL KNOWLEDGE

GLOBAL SEARCH FOR LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
Here is some hopeful inspiration to all the single mama's out there. Traveling is possible, magical earthly adventures are out there and lessons from a variety of cultures will bring wisdom to this family from the west. I want to rest from the feeling of isolation that I am sure many overworked mothers in western culture would feel, where community and local knowledge is losing value. I want to show images of beautiful families over the world, and feel awake again with the need for us to survive and harmonise with nature. Pictures will consume most of this blog, and the rainbow trail will be sought. Just us our family in and of the world... First stop Indonesia.

The illusion above water....

Looking beyond the pool area, beach side restaurants scattered along the coast, new developments and villas I snorkeled in the ocean yesterday near our accommodation. Candidasa is one area of the many degrading reefs along the coast in Indonesia. Two lonely blowfish looking lost in the dying coral and sunken rubbish which had gathered its own life form. A small reef bank with another two remaining fish darting in and out of dead coral, these are the last survivors of an underwater desertification. The impact is creeping upon us now and I pondered the thought of if we have already reached a tipping point, those few remaining fish are surviving what we may have to come. I felt momentarily lost in this quest for knowledge and how to harmonise with nature when the environment is dissolving right at our feet and we are still pushing the material boundaries.

Then, I went for a swim in the pool and a massage... ahhh all better..

Mallee and his friend for the day Cinta which means love in Indonesian, this was her place near a orchid garden that we visited, she is showing Mallee the fighting cocks.

Mallee with the loving mothers.

This picture is a credit to you Jenny who took this while nearly passing out after a stomach bug. A stunning shot.
