GLOBAL SEARCH FOR LOCAL KNOWLEDGE

GLOBAL SEARCH FOR LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
Here is some hopeful inspiration to all the single mama's out there. Traveling is possible, magical earthly adventures are out there and lessons from a variety of cultures will bring wisdom to this family from the west. I want to rest from the feeling of isolation that I am sure many overworked mothers in western culture would feel, where community and local knowledge is losing value. I want to show images of beautiful families over the world, and feel awake again with the need for us to survive and harmonise with nature. Pictures will consume most of this blog, and the rainbow trail will be sought. Just us our family in and of the world... First stop Indonesia.

A holiday holiday

Christmas come and went and so will we. We are now staying east of bali in a small village called Candidasa, this now is a holiday, days have consisted of eating, swimming, thinking about swimming in the beach or the pool and what to eat next. This sleepy little gem of a town was purpose built for tourism they built a lagoon where the town centered and then built a makeshift beach. Unbeknown to the locals and developers, strong tides destroyed all the beaches and eroded some villas. Now Candidasa will never be the new Kuta, yet I enjoy the unambiguity of the place and I am enjoying my first massage in about a million years.

Mallees diet... Banana Juice (which he thinks is banana milk) Bananas and banana pancake, and for some reason he has grown a new appreciation for eggs in which he calls ovals.

He has ceased the constant no no no no and has adopted OK' OK'. What a relief! He is finally settled into this transportation lifestyle and will even approach people of his own accord.  Teddy is spoken of less and bananas have taken a whole new meaning to bribes. The pool and beach is his new haven, and his christmas present was some ridiculously massive floatation arm bands with big whales on the top, he looks great and had his first swim on his own yesterday. So this has been a lovely little break for christmas, yet onto Nusa Penida on Wednesday and therefore away from all forms of technology. A big update will follow after 10 days. I must leave now with these pictures the staff are hovering over the WIFI router staring, waiting for my departure. Everything closes here very early.
Mallee overlooking the lagoon in Candidasa (forgive the rotation)

Nice moment together swimming (this was 8am in the morning allready 30deg)

Christmas day together, Mallee opened some supermarket cars and brightly coloured cats, which entertained him for a while)

View from Candidasa, that island over there is Nusa Pendina where we will be staying this week.

Just a wee arty shot there...
